NPW- Week 5 Big Apple Red

Big Apple Red. That is the color of the week for me. Well last week. I was moving and it took a while for me to get settled and get Internet, so this polish is a little behind. But that's OK, I'm back. :) Anywhos, This polish is by NYC, and they are $1.00 and are pretty good quality. I have a bunch of this brand because its just so cheap and one of my go to nails brand.

Sorry about the bad quality, I guess the light wasn't very good when I took this picture. But, this is just a nice shiny red. This is two coats, and no clear over coat. Which means the formula is really shiny. And I like that! I really like wearing red with short nails, its just taking such a classic color and wearing it in a very modern way.

The clear I use is by ELF and it is only $1, as is most of their products.
TIP: So here is a great tip! Instead of putting on clear after I apply my polish, I wait 2 or 3 days and then apply it. It makes my polish last so much longer. I feel putting it on at the same time, doesn't make the polish last very long.

So here is my polish a week after I applied it. Look how good it looks! This was like 3 days after I applied the clear coat. So I think you should try it out and see if it works for you! :)  Peaces! Stay PTC

Target & Ulta Haul

YAY Target! I am a Target girl! I just love that place, so I did a little shopping and got a few things. First up is my grey little tank. I think this is great for summer, and I love tanks and grey. So this is perfect for me. It was $15 which I thought was a bit much, but I really liked the way it looked and I knew I would wear it a lot. I like wearing these simple tanks because there is a lot you can do with them. You can dress them up or down, and you can layer them by just placing a jacket or cardigan over it. I think its a great staple.

I also went to the E.L.F isle. (my fav) and I picked up a few items. I got the Clarifying Pressed Powder in 1302 Honey. I needed a darker powder because I get darker in the summer, and I thought I would try this. I haven't purchased a powder from E.L.F before, so I will check it out, and tell you how it went. I also got he Shimmering Facial Whip. I've been wanting to try a highlighter, so this is my first, they also had a white, but I figured since I'm olive skinned, that the brown would be better. The last E.L.F thing I got was the Nourishing Cuticle Pen. My cuticles have gone CRAZY, and I'm scared to get them cut, so I bought this thingy in hopes it would rid of all weird cuticles. Here's hoping. Oh, and ALL the E.L.F. products were 1 dolla each. Yeah!

I also bought some target shavers, hopefully those won't give me razor burn. Those were 3.74 for a pack of three. And Barbasol Shaving Cream. So it may seem weird to get this kind. But I really like it. My husband bought this kind, and I was like eww old man shaving cream. But when I ran out of my "fancy girly" shaving cream I used some of this, and it pretty much worked the same. And it is sooo much cheaper. This was $1.16, which I think is cheaper at Walmart, but I'm not sure. hmm Still an awesome price.

The last item I bought was Vaseline from the mini travel section. Which I've never bought any of this stuff, but I always heard that you could use it for a bunch of beauty stuff. So I looked it up, and I found this website. 50 uses for Vaseline. Which is all beauty related things you can do with Vaseline, so I thought, why not try. It was only $1.47.
So as you see, this haul has a lot of first tries. So I will have to keep yall updated on how these items worked out. Hopefully they will all be great. We will just have to find out. :)

ULTA

I love going to Ulta, because... they have this really great cheap line, Essence, AND they have a really great rewards plan. The rewards plan is really great, and doesn't cost anything. Which I wouldn't be apart of if it did, but nevertheless, it is free. And us TPC (thrify pretty chic)  girls love anything that has to do with free & makeup. So basically, you spend money, you get free items. If you spend $50 over time, you will get a coupon for something free. yay free! I've used this a few times, and I've gotten nail polish, eyeliner, and I think eye shadow. What you get changes, but they are all really great products, and mostly ULTA products, and did I mention you get them for FREE!!! So yeah, look into that if you have a Ulta near you. Anyways...

I did purchase a few items from my fave ULTA brand-Essence. Oh, also you get coupons in the mail and online for like 20% off, or $3.50 off $10 or even $5 off $10. So for this shopping trip I used a $3.50 off $10. First thing I got was this coverstick. I love this thing, it covers so well, but the one I have is almost out :( so I went and got this one. It is in a darker shade than I have, since I'm getting darker as the summer goes on, so hopefully it will work as well as the one I have. This is in the color Matt Honey. And this is normally around $2, but wait for it, I got it for... ... ... $0.01!!!! OMG I do NOT know how that happened! But I do wish I would have gotten more, in all colors. So WOW that was just crazy. I didn't get as lucky with they other items, but I still got a good price on them. Plus they still let me use my coupon, even after not spending $10. So it was a good day. Back to the products->
I got a Smokey Eyes Brush.Only $1.99. Which, brushes are new to their line, so this will be the first I will try of them. I also got a longlasting eye pencil in hot chocolate. I love their eye liners. They go on smoothly and are great colors ( my fave is the grey one). I wanted black, but they were out, so I thought I would try the brown. Wish me luck. Oh also, I will put a pic at the bottom, but when I was rubbing off the makeup on my hand, the eye liner did not want to budge, so I took a pic, so I knew I wasn't going crazy, and so I could show you how good they are.
The other item I got was this very pinky eyeshadow in the color It's Up To You. Only $1.99. This has great color, although you can't really tell in the picture. And I've been looking for a good pink. So I hope it looks good on my eyes, and if not maybe I can use it as a blush..
Well, it was fun. See you laters. :)

My Not So Favorites of June...

So instead of doing a favorites of June, because I've already done my favorite/most used items, I will do my not so favorites. These are the items I tried in June that didn't work out as well as I hoped they would.            :( Very sad... But happy that I get to share with you!

My first two products are eye liners. I love grey as a color, so of course I've tried out 2 grey eyeliners. I have a "manual" eyeliner from Essence that I love, but wanted a automatic one, so I didn't have to keep sharpening. I found this one at Target for a couple of bucks. It is the Wet n Wild mega lash in the color charcoal. But I was sadly disappointed. The color wasn't as dark as I would like it. And it kept breaking off and was hard to put on my eye. So I was totally disappointed in that. The other one is from elf. It is their liquid eyeliner in the color Ash. Now Idk if I don't like this because it is the first liquid eyeliner I have ever used. hmm, but I didn't like it. It was hard to put on, and the brush was hard, and I was expecting more of a brush. And it was really smeary. So maybe you will have better luck with this one then I did. But I didn't like it. Maybe I should try that one again. Maybe...

These are the face products that I didn't enjoy. The first one is Elf's Complexion Perfection. Now I have seen this thing all over youtube and blogs. About how wonderful it is, and only for $3, its a steal. Well, I wish I hadn't wasted my precious money. : p It's not that good. I was soooo disappointed in this product. It was really powdery and got everywhere, and when I put it on it was still powdery and I had to rub it in with my hands. And... it made my completion lighter than it is. It totally washed me out. So maybe if you had a lighter completion an didn't mind the all the powder it would work for you, but it didn't work for me.  The next product is Essence Forget It! 3 in 1 concealer. I thought this was neat because each color is a different concealer. Green=redness, Beige=blemishes, and Pink=dark circles. Well it didn't work for any of these things. And it was cakey and hard to blend in.

So I got this eyeshadow at Victoria's Secret during their big sale. This color was way too white and glittery. Plus it just got all over me. I wouldn't write off these eye shadows, just this one. The next product is the Elf professional Bronzing Brush. Now I have a few of Elf's brushes, so I thought this one would be good. But it is just OK. Its not very good for blending in, and the bristles fall out. So yeah.  Now my mascara, has to win for the "Most Disappointing Product of the Year/Month". Maybelline One By One Volume Express is my absolute favorite mascara of all times, so I thought well duh the waterproof of it would be perfect! WRONG! This is not good. It is like a completely different product. It doesn't make your eyelashes all big and thick, no it makes this short and thin and the color is really light. Bummer!

My last unfavorite product is the Confetti nail polish. I got this from CVS and it was on sale for like $2.50, more than I normally spend on polish. Now the color is not what I have a problem with( currently wearing it on my toes). But the brush. This had to be the worst brush I have ever used with a nail polish. Normally I don't notice, but with this, it was so much more difficult to use. The bristles were long and thin, so it kept like bending and flapping like a dead fish. Which its not easy to paint your nails with a wet fish. So I probably wouldn't buy any more nail polishes from this line. Very disappointed!
So there you have it, all my disappointments, my unfavorites of the month. Hope this helps to steer you clear of the rotten eggs out there. Peaces Stay TPC! Please subscribe and comment, it would make my day! :)

NPW- Private Viewing

Here is my nail polish of the week. It is called Private Viewing and it is from Wet n Wild. I got this from Target for only $1.99. Not too bad of a price.

I just thought it was a great neutral color. It is a beige with a slight pink and orange undertone.

But I was kinda disappointed when I put it on, and it blended in with my skin color. :( So it just looks like I was born that way. So I wasn't loving it. I did see a shade darker when I was at Target, and so I guess I should have grabbed that one. Oh well, next time gadget...
But I did end up adding another coat (3 all together!) and it did make it a lil more pink than beige. So that made it a bit better. And I was like, do I like it, do I hate it? I didn't know, so I just kept it on. Tell me what you think of it. I think it would be better on a person with lighter skin than me. In this picture my skin looks a lot lighter than it actually is, and it just kinda looked weird. But guess what, it's still on my nails ! :O

But the one thing I do love about the polish is the brush. It is absolutly fabulous! ( love that show!) It is short and thick, and make putting on my polish super easy. I would totally go back and buy more Wet n Wild polish, just not Private Viewing...   Peaces, Stay TPC! Please subscribe and comment! It would make my day! :)

Mall Haul

Summer time! And that means... Shopping! Oh how I adore shopping. It is so much fun, but can get you in to trouble. So I try to avoid that by shopping smart and thrifty, yet pretty and chic. SO, this is what I got.

This is my lovely dress. I just love it. It is super cute and super summery. This I found on the clearance rack at Macy's. There is always a clearance rack at Macy's and this is where I always go to first. You just can always find great things for really great prices. This was only $10, and it is a dark blue sundress with circles which are also blue and some stretchy stuff on the back. It also has a band around the front and middle, which helps define the waist and make the cut really flattering.  I really like this!

Now these...oh la la.. so love these. I also got these at Macy's in the shoe clearance isle. There isn't always a clearance isle at the shoes, but I always keep an eye out for one. And when I went there was one!
These shoes I absolutely love! They are material girl, which is Madonna's brand. They were only $17! So yay. I really like the buckle with the studs on the front, kind of gives them an edge and the inside is zebra striped, which is cool. Also under pants, they kind of look like boots, and they are grey, which I love!
Victoria's Secret is still having their big sale, so I checked them out again and found a few eye shadows. The brand is called Beauty Rush, and I've gotten them before at their big Semi Annual sale. I would probably only buy them then, just because they are $7 normally, and to me, that is just too much. But these were on sale for $1.75 each (SCORE!) So I did snatch up a few more.

The first one is called Crystal Ball, and I thought that this one would be great as a highlighter. It is super shimmery and white. It did come off a lil too shimmery for me, so I might use it with a matte eye, but I'm not too sure yet if I'm gonna use it much. The next one is called Gold rush. I am obsessed with this color. It has been my go to summer eye shadow. It is like a shimmery gold and it is so simple but summery and I just love it. I will have to show this one off in a makeup picture. The last one was recommended to me by one of the sales people. It is called Glammerald. Its OK. It is really pigmented, and very deep green. I mostly use this in my crease to give my neutral eye some color.

Here are the swatches, and as you can see, they are very pigmented.
More shoes! YAY! I have been looking for some more simple sandals for the summer, and I just happened to find these at Wet Seal. They were buy one get one for .01 on all clearance, so I bought two sandals. These first ones are a gladiator inspired purple sandal. I was a little worried about the straight across on the toes, but they are super comfy.
The other ones I bought were a black gladiator inspired sandal. (They just seem to be everywhere this Season) I like all the buckles, they just have an easy going vibe with an edge, which I really like.

These earrings I got at Forever 21 for $4.80. I love their jewelry because you can always find them at a good price.
They are just long earrings and the top is a triangle and kind of tribally/80's inspired. And I thought that was different. Then it is a silver chain that leads to big soft black feathers. I love these, but they are a very personal style piece. That not everyone will like. But I like how they kind of blend into my hair but still go with some of the trends in an edgy way. I really like edgy accessories, because my clothes tend to be girlie and I like to mix girlie and edgy together. So I thought that these were perfect for that.
                                                                          It's me!
Just some more pictures of the earrings, just so you can get a visual of what they look like on and off. Well that was about it for my mall shopping trip. Just remember to look for those clearance racks, the big sales, and to go to places that sell cheap items. Peaces, Stay TPC! :)
